These controls are to provide alternative means of accessing the information on this page. Two main facilities are provided: adjusting the text size and listening to the text on the page.
1) Adjusting Text Size:
You can increase the text size by clicking on 'Larger' (access key '+'), and reduce it by clicking on 'Smaller' (access key '-'). You can reset the size back to its original value by clicking on 'Reset' (access key 'j')
2) Listening to the Text

PRESENT: Mrs.M.Phipps (Madam Chairman), Mr.Newbolt-Young, Mr.M.Nosworthy and Mr.Pascoe

PUBLIC COMMENT/POLICE MATTERS
None
2756 MINUTES: The minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 2nd February2006 were approved and signed by the Chairman as being an accurate record of the meeting.
2757 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
(a) Widecombe Fair Day 2006: the Clerk reported that he has received a signed contract from Raymond Amusements together with a copy of their insurance policy and examples of trader’s registration forms and pass. It was decided to given the pass to the Fair committee for inspection.
(b) ANNUAL PARISH MEETING it was agreed that this should be held on: WEDNESDAY 22nd MARCH at 7.30 pm at CHURCH HOUSE. It was agreed refreshments would be provided at the start of the meeting as last year. Mr.Newbolt-Young agreed to obtain the wine and glasses and Mrs. Tempest the cheese and biscuits. Mrs.Phipps confirmed that those giving reports have been contacted
(c) Affordable Housing: the Clerk reported that he has received an E-mail from Hastoe Housing Association that indicated they have applied for funding to build two more houses at Brook Lane.This was welcomed by Members.Mr.Newbolt-Young and madam chairman both reported that there has been recently an advert in the press by ‘Housing Matters’ of St. Ives, Cornwall indicating that they would like to purchase land and build more affordable houses at Widecombe. No formal Detailed Planning Applications have been submitted as their intention at this stage appears to an assessment of housing need. After discussion members felt that more housing at a higher elevation along Brook Lane would not be welcome. The Clerk was asked to write to the Planning Authority seeking information
2758 PLANNING
(a) Weekly Lists sent weekly to the Chairman and placed for circulation
(b) Grant of Planning for: ESA Habitat Management Scheme at Langworthy Farm
(c) 0138/06 Change of use of dwelling to provide tea room and garden for 30 covers at Foxley, The Green, Widecombe. The decision of the Council was to object to this application on grounds that there already existed sufficient capacity for such tea/refreshments in the village. Members were mindful that a previous application for increase size to this property was granted but no mention at the time had been made of change of use.

2760 HIGHWAYS
(a) The monthly map for attention of the Highway Dept. was highlighted for return
(b) After discussion about the poor standard of road maintenance it was agreed that the Clerk should write an article on the matter for publication in The Parish Link
2761 DELEGATES REPORTS
(a) DNPA Local Development Framework: Mr.Newbolt-Young, having read through the weighty documentation, reported to members and recommended the Council support the DNPA

There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 9.00 pm.
