Widecombe's Roll of Honour commemorating all those locally who served in the forces in the First World War was lost many years ago. The Roll of Honour has now been researched and recreated as part of the World War One commemorative activities in the parish.

The list of those who served has been completed and those people who are included on the Roll of Honour are listed below. It is emphasised that this list is NOT NECESSARILY FINAL. New information will still come to light in the future that will necessitate updates to the Roll of Honour.

However a new permanent Roll is being produced and will be on display in St Pancras Church in Widecombe. A temporary one is there currently.

If you have any information or photographs of any of the people listed, or names that might be missing, please Contact Us. This will help us to ensure that the memories of those brave men who went to war to fight for our freedom are never lost again.

(Please note Leusdon does have a surviving Roll of Honour which can be viewed in Leusdon Church.)
