We had a wonderful White Christmas to mark the end of the year 2000 and couldn't resist taking some pictures! As usual, click on the images for a larger view.

The snow brought predictable chaos as hundreds of people descended on the moor for tobogganing etc, made worse by the fact that it was a holiday for all. There were numerous accidents and vehicles blocking roads. Local farmers etc were involved in several rescues, towing etc. We must all remember that farmers have to get out, especially in bad weather, with food for any animals in fields, on the moor etc.

With only main roads being gritted, you departed from them at your peril! If you could leave the car behind it was all wonderful!
